Landscape & Maintenance News: Summer Heat Means Smarter Irrigation at Stonebridge Ranch

As summer temperatures continue to climb and rainfall becomes less frequent, keeping Stonebridge Ranch’s beautiful outdoor spaces healthy requires a little extra help. Our irrigation system plays an essential role in maintaining the parks, medians, greenbelts, landscape beds, and common areas that residents enjoy throughout the community.

Why Does Irrigation Increase During the Summer?

During the hottest months of the year, turf, trees, shrubs, and landscape beds require additional water to help prevent heat stress and maintain healthy growth.

Extended periods of high temperatures, combined with limited rainfall, cause moisture to leave the soil more quickly through evaporation and normal plant use. When Mother Nature provides less assistance, our irrigation system must operate more frequently to provide the moisture our landscaping needs.

Understanding Seasonal Water Usage

With increased irrigation comes an increase in overall water consumption and utility costs. This is a normal seasonal change as we work to protect Stonebridge Ranch’s landscape investment during the most demanding months of the year.

Our goal is to provide landscapes with the water they need while remaining mindful of responsible water usage.

Monitoring Our Irrigation Systems

Stonebridge Ranch staff continuously monitors irrigation systems, weather conditions, and water usage to help ensure irrigation operates as efficiently as possible.

Leaks, broken sprinkler heads, damaged components, and other irrigation concerns are addressed promptly when identified. These efforts help reduce unnecessary water loss while ensuring our community landscaping receives appropriate care throughout the summer.

Adjusting With the Seasons

Irrigation needs aren’t the same year-round. As temperatures begin to cool and seasonal rainfall returns, irrigation schedules are adjusted accordingly.

Reducing irrigation when weather conditions allow helps conserve water, manage utility costs, and ensure our landscapes continue receiving the appropriate amount of moisture throughout each season.

Keeping Stonebridge Ranch Beautiful

Maintaining the beautiful parks, greenbelts, medians, and common areas throughout Stonebridge Ranch is a community-wide investment. Thoughtful irrigation management helps protect these spaces while promoting responsible water use.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep Stonebridge Ranch beautiful all year long!
