Compliance Corner: Good News – More Flexibility for Trash Day

One of the most common questions our team receives is about when trash and recycling carts can be placed out for collection. Thanks to a recent update to the Association’s guidelines, residents now have a little more flexibility.

Compliance Corner: Updated Trash Tote Guidelines

The Stonebridge Ranch Board recently approved a revision to the Trash Tote and Recycling Bin Guidelines.

Residents may now place trash and recycling carts at the curb beginning at 3:00 p.m. on the day before their scheduled collection day. Previously, carts could not be placed out until 7:00 p.m. the evening before pickup.

This earlier timeframe makes it easier for busy families, commuters, and residents with evening commitments to prepare for collection without waiting until later in the day.

As a reminder:

• Trash and recycling carts may be placed out beginning at 3:00 p.m. on the day before your scheduled pickup.
• Carts should be returned to their proper storage location by 7:00 a.m. on the day after collection.
• When not in use, carts should be stored:
  • Inside the garage;
  • Behind a six-foot cedar privacy fence screened from public view;
  • In an alley against the house or fence;
  • Behind the front building line with approved evergreen screening;
  • Or within an approved screened enclosure.
• Trash and recycling carts may not be stored in front driveways or flower beds. Homes with alley access may store carts against the house or fence in the alley.

Modifications Snapshot: By the Numbers

Trash and recycling cart storage continues to be one of the most common compliance topics in our community, but the numbers tell a positive story.

Currently, trash-related concerns account for approximately 15.4% of all open compliance cases. However, those cases represent only about 2% of Stonebridge Ranch’s nearly 9,500 homes, meaning approximately 98% of residents are already storing their carts in accordance with the guidelines.

The updated placement time is intended to make compliance even easier while continuing to protect the clean, attractive appearance of our neighborhoods. When everyone follows the same simple guidelines, it helps preserve curb appeal, supports property values, and keeps Stonebridge Ranch looking its best for residents and visitors alike.
