Keeping Stonebridge Ranch beautiful and well-maintained requires ongoing inspections, thoughtful water management, and regular attention to the community’s landscaping and infrastructure. This week, we’re taking a closer look at what our landscape team watches for throughout the community, why some landscaped areas may look different during the summer months, and the latest update on the Wellington 7 pond.
Landscape & Grounds: What Our Landscape Team Looks For
There is more happening behind the scenes of Stonebridge Ranch’s landscaping than residents may realize. As crews work throughout the community, they are continually monitoring common areas to identify conditions that may need attention.
During routine inspections, the landscape team looks for:
- Irrigation issues that could affect turf, trees, or landscape beds
- Weed growth and areas requiring additional treatment
- Damaged or stressed plants that may need maintenance or replacement
- Turf conditions, including signs of heat or water-related stress
- Trees and landscape beds that may require trimming, cleanup, or other maintenance
When a problem area is identified, it is documented so the appropriate work can be evaluated and prioritized. These regular inspections allow the team to catch smaller concerns early and address maintenance needs before they develop into larger issues.
Why Do Some Landscape Areas Look Different?
During the summer months, residents may notice that landscaping and turf conditions can vary from one area of Stonebridge Ranch to another. This does not necessarily mean an area is being overlooked.
Different grass varieties, soil conditions, sun exposure, irrigation zones, and other environmental factors can all influence how landscaping responds to the Texas summer.
Certain areas may also be intentionally allowed to enter periods of dormancy as part of responsible water management. Dormant turf may temporarily lose its vibrant green appearance while remaining viable beneath the surface.
Landscape crews continue to monitor these areas and irrigation performance with the goal of supporting healthy turf and landscaping while remaining mindful of responsible water usage.
Maintenance Corner: Wellington 7 Pond Update
Repair work at the Wellington 7 pond is now complete, and the pond has officially moved into the refill and monitoring phase.
The pond is currently refilling through the Association’s existing well system, which supports the interconnected pond network throughout the community, as well as through natural rainfall. Due to continued dry conditions, however, rainfall has not yet provided the additional water volume that would normally assist with the refill process.
Board Reviews Refill Options
At its August 27 meeting, the Board reviewed the available options for accelerating the pond refill.
After consideration, the Board agreed to continue utilizing the Association’s existing well system and natural rainfall, rather than incur the additional expense associated with bringing in supplemental water.
This approach allows the pond to refill through the community’s existing infrastructure while avoiding unnecessary additional costs to the Association.
What Happens Next?
Management will continue monitoring the Wellington 7 pond’s water levels and overall performance as the refill process continues.
Once the pond reaches an appropriate operating level, the fountain will be reinstalled.
Because the refill timeline is influenced by both the existing well system and rainfall, residents may notice that the process occurs gradually, particularly while dry weather conditions persist.
